World-renowned therapist, bestselling author, and founder of Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), Marisa Peer, has launched a bold global mission to tackle the growing global mental health crisis. The One Billion Lives Initiative aims to transform the lives of one billion people worldwide by training 100,000 new Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) practitioners, making powerful, life-changing mental health support available to more people globally. This ambitious initiative has been launched in response to alarming statistics from the World Health Organization, which state that one in eight people globally is living with a mental health disorder, with depression and anxiety costing the global economy over £1 trillion each year in lost productivity. The WHO also reports a critical shortfall in mental health professionals, with fewer than 13 mental health workers per 100,000 people globally. Over her thirty-year career, Marisa, who is now based in Dubai, has worked with a client list that includes international superstars, CEOs, and Olympic athletes, using her pioneering therapeutic approach – Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), which combines the most effective principles of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP, CBT, Quantum Physics and Neuroscience to deliver life-changing results. Following the success of her personal practice and driven by a mission to make deep transformation accessible, Marisa founded the RTT School in 2015 and has trained over 18,000 therapists, practitioners, and coaches worldwide. The One Billion Lives Initiative is more than a training program; it is a global effort to bring Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) into workplaces, schools, and underserved communities where access to effective mental health support is often limited. The initiative acknowledges that many individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others, such as educators, carers, healthcare professionals, and community leaders, frequently go unrecognised and unrewarded for their contributions and sacrifices.
To support these individuals, the initiative will also offer a bursary program that provides discounted access to RTT training to enable eligible candidates to explore a new path that empowers them to create meaningful change in the lives of others while also transforming their own personal and professional journey.Commenting on the initiative, Marisa said: “We are in the midst of a global mental health crisis unlike anything we’ve ever faced. Too many people are silently struggling, feeling unseen, unheard, and unsupported, and that has to change.
“Mental wellbeing is not a luxury, it’s a fundamental human right. With this initiative, we’re not just making support accessible – we’re making it transformational.”Our mission is bold, but clear: to create a world where everyone has access to the tools that heal, empower, and transform their lives – for good.” Samira Alexander’s life was transformed after an RTT Session with Marisa. She was one of the first people to train with Marisa when the RTT School launched in 2015: “From the age of six, I experienced relentless bullying and racism, which led me to internalize deep feelings of inadequacy. Even as I grew older and became outwardly successful, I kept attracting toxic relationships and environments that mirrored my childhood pain. Then I met Marisa Peer. One RTT session with her created an immediate shift. The emotional weight I had carried for decades dissolved. I felt lighter, clearer, and, for the first time, truly enough.
“RTT didn’t just heal old wounds – it gave me the tools to live from confidence and purpose. The beliefs Marisa helped me install became my new reality, and I’ve never looked back.
“Today, I’m an RTT therapist helping others find the same freedom I did. That one session didn’t just change how I felt – it changed everything. RTT showed me that the past doesn’t define you. You are never too broken, too late, or too lost to heal.”Samira now works with clients out in Dubai to help them clear the blocks holding them back. Shaun — “RTT saved my life.” “I was battling major depression, anxiety, and drinking up to a bottle of vodka a day. I was sleeping just two or three hours a night and had reached the point where I truly felt I couldn’t go on. I’d tried everything – therapy, self-help, medication – but nothing gave me lasting relief.
“Then I found RTT. My first session was deeply emotional. It took me back to the root of my pain, and as I released it, I felt a wave of euphoria and empowerment. For the first time in years, I felt hope. I know without a doubt that if I hadn’t started RTT when I did, I wouldn’t be here today. It gave me my life back and the strength to speak openly about mental health, something I never thought I’d do.”Chris — “RTT helped me let go of who I thought I had to be and become who I truly am.” “Before RTT, I was stuck in anxiety, low self-esteem, and the constant pressure to be who others expected me to be. RTT helped me uncover the root of those beliefs in just one session, and everything started to make sense. It gave me the clarity to realise it wasn’t my fault and that I had the power to change it. “Afterwards, I felt calmer, more focused, and finally able to shut out the noise. That shift gave me the confidence to retrain into a new career, increase my income, and start building a future on my terms. RTT didn’t just calm my mind, it gave me purpose, direction, and a new sense of self.”
