Santhigiri Holistic Health Center Launches UAE’s First Comprehensive ‘Ayurvedic Post-COVID Care Clinic’

Santhigiri Holistic Health Center Launches UAE’s First Comprehensive ‘Ayurvedic Post-COVID Care Clinic’

As per the reports, 30% of COVID patients experience long-term aftereffects of the disease even months after testing negative. The immune system gets severely compromised; making the body weak and vulnerable thus leading to numerous complications with persistent long-term symptoms.

In a noble initiative to reduce post-COVID medical issues, Dubai’s Santhigiri Holistic Health Center launched UAE’s first comprehensive exclusive ‘Ayurveda Post-COVID Care Clinic’ for the COVID long-haulers.

Dr. Aman Puri, the Consul General of India in Dubai officially inaugurated the Santhigiri Holistic Health Center as well as the Post-COVID Clinic and praised the center for bringing the legacy of India’s renowned Santhigiri Group to the UAE.

Now, the people of the UAE can also take advantage of this holistic way of healing and treatment protocols which are well researched and devised under the supervision of scholars from across India as well as Santhigiri’s own research wing. They will not only recover faster but will feel completely re-energized, with an added sense of well-being ensuring overall health and happiness”.

Through its specialized treatments designed by seasoned Ayurveda Practitioners, the Dubai clinic aims to strengthen the body’s immunity, prevent further illness and discomforts in a more holistic way.  Moreover, the tested methods work on improving agility, increasing absorption of nutrients as well as boosting metabolic activities, thus enhancing the general health status of an individual.

Some post-COVID conditions occur only amongst people who have had severe illness, however patients with mild illness or no initial impact can also present lingering symptoms lasting days, weeks or months after being infected with the virus. The recovery period is likely to be longer for patients who suffered from a more severe form of the disease and those with pre- existing conditions like diabetes, hypertension and COPD etc.

Chronic fatigue, sleep abnormalities, weakness, shortness of breath, muscle and joint pain, chest pain, cough, abdominal pain, stress, anxiety etc. are usually the most common persistent signs of long-COVID.

Santhigiri COVID care initiative offers 7-Day and 14-Day customized programs for the recovering patients, curated to treat the specific symptoms while enhancing immunity, optimizing health and functioning outcomes.

For instance, ‘Kashaya Dhara’, a specialized treatment in which the whole body is subjected to streams of lukewarm herbal decoction is effectively used in reducing joint pain and stiffness. On the other hand ‘Abhyangam’, a full body oil massage augments proper blood circulation helping boost energy levels, rejuvenating and relaxing the muscles, in addition to improving skin tone, and inducing sleep, whilst the ‘Nadi Swedanam’ technique improves peripheral circulation, controls the blood pressure, relieves body pain, and reduces swelling.

Furthermore, depending on the physical condition of the patient, customized herbal compresses are prepared at the center and special full body poultice therapies are performed to assist in the strengthening of the entire body

Additionally, incorporating turmeric, black pepper, cumin, garlic, coriander etc. in the diet can boost immunity whereas inclusion of herbal teas with cinnamon, holy basil, dry ginger etc. are helpful in reducing respiratory difficulties. Regular steam inhalations can improve smell and taste sensations in patients with compromised abilities due to the infection.

Talking about the foods to avoid, Dr. Santhosh highlighted that processed, fried, fast food, unhealthy snacks, margarines and spreads mustn’t be used in the diet. Solid foods and beverages that are high in salt and sugar should also not be consumed. Smoking, alcohol and other addictive substances are to be avoided as well.
